Dr. Lear is a graduate of Sul Ross State University and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Texas Tech Health Science Center and is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr Lear has been in private practice for 30 years. Throughout these years he has served in multiple leadership roles in the medical staff structure of several hospitals in Lubbock. Dr. Lear’s professional memberships include American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and Texas Academy of Family Physicians. He has previously served as a TAFP Committee Member. He is a former member of the American Academy of Physician’s Executives. Dr. Lear was nominated and elected by his peers as one of the Super Doctors of Texas in the 2004 Texas Monthly in the category of Family Medicine. Dr. Lear has one son and daughter and attends Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, and gardening in his free time..
